Barclays offered £180 in entirety - nearly £500 owed on a Woolwich account and £370 on another and refusing to up the offer. So I've merrily filed the papers at the small claims court today re the Woolwich account. Sitting here with a glass of white in pleasant anticipation of what is to come.

Cheers
Over past 6 years I have incurred £2808 of charges on my Woolwich openplan account.
Following an off of £53 from my first letter, I used the 2nd letter after coming across your site.
This week - following a slight breach of the data protection act after Barclays sent an £900 offer to my old address where my ex partner lives, I have had a full refund offered which I have accepted with pleasure.
Great site, thanks for your help, I have sent a link to a few friends so hopefully they will reap the rewards too.
Thanks
Martin (slightly richer).

Firstly GREAT website, so much I didnt know!

I sent a letter to The Woolich HO and got a reply from Barclays complaints department that they would contact me by the 11th August.

Received a letter yesterday offering me £990 out of my £1106 which isnt a bad offer so I accepted it and will be getting the money within the next 7 days.

I am so happy and glad that you can offer this service and more information to everyone.

I have told everyone that I know about this and they are in the process of getting their money back.

I BEAT THE BANKER!!!!!

Subject: Refund of bank charges

Hi,
I recently applied to the Woolwich bank for a refund of £2489 in charges applied to my account over the past six years. I was expecting a negative reply, although the Woolwich would not admitt to being at fault they did offer me a £950 goodwill payment. I wasn't  expecting to pay 'nothing' towards these charges as I will admitt some of them were my fault ,so I accepted the offer. I agree that I probably could have got more had I held out but I'm not greedy nor up for a court battle so I'm grateful for this site and the information given. Thanks for giving the 'little man' some strength against the Goliaths'.
Vanessa
